What's New?

Lots of fun things happening in my world as of late!  No new babies to share!  But I know you all stay glued to your computer screens to read about my fascinating life :)

Well, Caleb is doing well.  He now has his yellow and orange stripe in jujitsu!  He is going for his blue stripe on the 17th, and then after that, he can get his first belt!  He got to see the older kids in his class receive their red belts, which was a really big deal, and he was so excited for them.  I'm trying to think of something really special to do for him if he gets the belt.  Maybe a trip to the Aquarium in Boston or something.  If you can think of something, leave me a comment and let me know!

My Auntie Teri flew in from California to visit the family.  My mom threw a little get together at her house.

It was a great day.  The picture in the top left is some kind of plant from California that my Aunt says grows like vines all over the place and has really pretty white buds starting to sprout.

Let me introduce you to my cat.  Kitty Jo

She's a fantastic cat, not so much about being friendly though.  She is perpetually annoyed.  She waits for you to walk by and jumps out to attack your ankles.  You'll be petting her, and next thing you know, she's gnawing on your hands.  I think it's from being harassed by a toddler for so long.  Who knows.  Last weekend I had to take her to the rabies clinic.  I have never seen a cat so angry.  It literally took me about 15 minutes to get her in the cat carrier.  She braced her legs on the outside of it and would push off so I couldn't get her in.  Then I used my hands to hogtie her legs and arms and shove her in and she bit me!  I didn't let go though and managed to finally get her in the thing.  Then at the clinic, she's crying so loudly that everyone was staring at me.  The people giving the shot had to take her to the other room because she was thrashing so bad.  Then she pee'd herself.

Regardless!  She's such an awesome cat!  I like her, Caleb ADORES her.  She just had three kittens about two weeks ago.  How cute is this baby?

Their names are Dora, Diego and Boots.  Two look like my cat, and the one that Caleb loves is all black with a white belly and white stripe on the nose.

And speaking of babies, we recently went to Richardson's in Middleton.  If you haven't ever been there, it's such a great place to go!  Kids can play mini golf (18 holes!) for 3 bucks before noon time.  And they have cows and goats and chickens, which is always a big hit with my kid.  The day we went, there had just been several babies born.

And when I say JUST born, I really mean just born!  They still had their umbilical cords on them!  We also saw several mama cows in labor.  Then we got to have ice cream for lunch, such a fun day!  Oh and of course got to spend it with one of my fave people and her adorable kids, though I didn't get any pictures of us all, we were just having too much fun.

That was also around the time I cut Caleb's hair.  It was getting so long, summer is coming... so, it's mohalk time!

He looks like a little punk there, but it looks really cute, trust me!

And me??  I am thankful that my second semester of grad school is wrapping up.  Stick a fork in me, I'm done!  This semester wasn't as bad as the first, though.  I think the first is meant to scare the crap out of you and let you know that grad school is no joke!  This semester wasn't a cake walk, but it wasn't AS bad, I'd say.   Or maybe I just got lucky?  I really can't say enough good things about the Social Work program at Salem State though.  The teachers are just amazing and SO supportive.  The program is small and I feel like the teachers know me and care about me.  They are incredibly smart!  My policy class is fascinating.  I am hoping to be able to go on the Washington DC trip that is coming up in May.  I think it would be such an awesome opportunity to really learn about policy and I have never been to DC!  

 And last... Easter!  Today is Easter, I hope your all having a wonderful holiday.  Caleb is at his Dad's but he is due home any minute.  The Easter Bunny came to his Dad's house, my house, AND his nana's house so he is one lucky little man.  All the eggs are hidden (two and a half dozen, what was I thinking?!) and I'm ready for ham dinner!  Happy Easter everyone!
